Species: Chelydra serpentina The common snapping turtle is a large freshwater turtle of the family Chelydridae. Its natural range extends from southeastern Canada, southwest to the edge of the Rocky Mountains, as far east as Nova Scotia and Florida LEGAL TO OWN AND PURCHASE These turtles are Legal to own: Turtles under 4" are illegal to have as pets due to the salmonella virus being carried on their shells and young children handling them. Specimens, educational, exhibition and hobby turtles are not illegal. Hence these deceased turtles are not illegal unless they are a protected species and these are not protected or endangered. . . Please note: Due to Usps shipping regulations the specimen will be shipped without alcohol. You can fill your jar (not provided) with 70% rubbing alcohol which can be purchased at any grocery or drug store for approx $2. at a Family Dollar or Dollar General Store. Check us out!
