Rachel Hollis on Instagram: "I hope you don’t need this book…

Its been 5 years since Didn’t See That Coming came out. It was a book I never planned to write. I wrote it for anyone walking through something they didn’t plan either.

Here are the five

I wrote it for anyone walking through something they didn’t plan either. Here are the five biggest takeaways: 1. You are not who you were BEFORE the hard thing. When life falls apart, you come out the other side as someone new. You don’t need to get “back” to who you were, and trying to be like “before” (especially to make other people happy) will only cause you more pain 2. Pain can shape you for the BETTER, if you let it. You can’t control what happened, but you can control who you become because of it. Resilience isn’t just about being strong; it’s about becoming softer, wiser, more compassionate through the storm. 3. You are only ever in control of YOURSELF. Not the world. Not the people around you. Just you: your choices, your response, your healing. That realization can feel limiting... or it can feel like freedom. 4. You get to REBUILD — intentionally. If you have to start over, don’t rush back to “normal.” Be conscious about what you carry forward. Build the next version of your life on purpose, not by accident. 5. Never underestimate the power of HOPE As long as you’re breathing, there are still pictures left to take, memories left to make, and chapters of your life left to write. I hope you DONT need to read this book, but if you do, I hope it’s helpful 🤟🏻".
