The Ultimate 44" and 36" SFOGLINA PIN Extra long in fine Beech Wood from Unesco Ancient Primeval Casentino's Beech Forest in Tuscany, gift
Hello fresh pasta lover!
I'm happy to introduce you to the ultimate sfoglina rolling pin, which will please all pasta lovers as well as novice home bakers and pastry obsessives.
The perfect Italian gift for passionate cooks, professional chefs and pasta makers, this handcrafted Italian Rolling pin will bring Italy's artisan tradition into your kitchen
Here's what makes my rolling pin so special:
⁃ The original, unique, traditional rolling pin pastry, long up to 44'' (110 cm) and with a diameter of 1.85" (4.7 cm) and long up to 36'' (91.5 cm) and the same, with a diameter of 1.85" (4.7 cm) with the following characteristics:
⁃ Traditional Italian shape
⁃ a wooden ball handle that allows you to hang the rolling pin in your kitchen cabinets
⁃ a rounded end that makes it extra comfortable to use and allows more ways to use the rolling pin, including grinding spices, tenderizing meats and smashing herbs
⁃ precious beech tree wood from Unesco Ancient Primeval Casentino's Beech Forest in Tuscany, aged and evaporated. The National Casentino Forest spreads between Tuscany (home to Italian artisans) and Emilia Romagna (home to Italian fresh pasta and sfoglina tradition), which is what makes the heritage of this rolling pin so special.
⁃ Casentino beech tree wood is particularly solid and high density, making this rolling pin last a lifetime. Consider that the quality of wood is measured by density: common European beech wood has a density of Kg 600/700 per 1 Cubic Meter, while the Beech of the Casentino Forests has a density of Kg 900/1000 Per 1 Cubic Meter. Authentic sfoglina rolling pins have been created in Casentino beech wood for centuries in Tuscany and Emilia Romagna.
⁃ This rolling pin is free hand lathed by myself in my Tuscan workshop in the Tuscan hills following my grandfather's sketches and notes that I recently found.
A personal note from Filippo Romagnoli:
Dear friends,
First of all, a big hug from Florence and an even bigger thank you for allowing my bottega (the last existing woodcarving workshop in the Florentine countryside) to keep surprising you with handcrafted pasta tools.
I really feel my responsibility in representing true Florentine craftsmanship in the world through my little Etsy store.
My desire to offer you rare pasta tools is still alive and daily fed by your passion for authentic pasta making. When I first decided to open my online store years ago, I knew that this would become the place to share original, handcrafted objects, just like my workshop in Tuscany, where my family and I have been woodcarvers for 105 years.
While I'm designing and creating my pasta tools, I like to imagine them in your homes and I hope they will bring you and your families the same joy I feel when they're in my hands.
Following your requests, I've finally decided to launch the original Italian sfoglina rolling pin, which should only be created in precious beech tree wood from Unesco Ancient Primeval Casentino's Beech Forest, just like the people of Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna have been doing for centuries. There is no Italian sounding here. This rolling pin is entirely designed and made in Italy (in my Tuscan workshop in the Florentine hills) from Tuscan wood. It is also free hand lathed by myself. I hope you'll understand the complexity of creating with love and passion such a precious object.
Happy pasta making, everyone!
Philip Romagnoli
