Soda fired ceramic havdalah set includes:
Pomegranate for spice box besamim, small goblet for wine, candle holder and teeny bowl for extinguishing flame, that all fit onto plate.
Flashing slip MATT with line design.
A small flaw gives this a discounted price.
Plate is 7.5 inches across that has small place where the slip peeled off ( closeup in photo)
Cup is a 2.5 inch high, holds 3 oz

teeny bowl 1.5 inch across.
Soda firing is an atmospheric firing method, where the glaze is "made" in the firing process.
For the last few hours of the firing, I spray a solution of soda ash and water into the fire box, which is carried through the kiln with the flames; vaporizing and bonding with the silica in the clay body and colored slips.
This creates the unique glaze buildup over the surface, resulting in every single piece being one of a kind and unrepeatable.
This is what I find so exciting and endlessly interesting about what I am doing!!
