The listing is for an Antique Victorian Elephant Hair Bangle Bracelet. The antique bracelet features one elephant hair strand wrapped with thin twisting gold sheet. The ends of the bangle feature gold caps with a slide feature that allows the bangle to expand so it can be easily slipped on/off. Elephant Hair Jewelry was a popular safari memento during the Victorian period and was thought to bring protection to the wearer. Weighs: 1.7 grams Measurements: the strand is approximately 0.0720 inches at widest. Inside measurement 9 1/8 inches extends to approximately 10 2/8 inches. Marks: unmarked. The gold acid tests as 18k gold and using an Auracle AGT3 Electronic Gold Tester for confirmation also reads as 18k gold. Condition: Overall great condition for age.
