Brutalist Metal Laminate Vanleigh Credenza

This is a metal laminate Mid-Century Modern Vanleigh credenza. Beneath the metal laminate on this piece is walnut veneer. This piece has been glitzed in lightweight metal laminate. I used to use mirror exclusively. This is a safer option due to the enhanced weight of glass making pieces top heavy and increasing their capability of tipping over. This is a 2 door credenza and it has one drawer and also has a shelf on the opposite side. I have listed several photos–a couple of them show how the laminate assimilates to whatever you have in the room..and a few of them show the piece having white sides which it does not. Two different laminates were used...one with a dimple on the drawer fronts...and the sides and top are solid nickel laminate which behaves like a mirror. This piece was manufactured by Vanleigh out of New York in the 60s. It is very Kagan looking. Basic Witz out of Virginia produced similar looking pieces.
